Review of "Not So Silent Night" by Kelly Ryan

What's New to Review~ Wednesday

Okay, so Christmas is over in half the world and is coming to a close here on the east coast of the USA as well. Though my post is running MUCH later than planned, it was a necessity for me to get this up. Many of you received a new tablet, e-reader, or laptop for computer, and I am here to give you some advice on what you may want to read on this quiet Christmas Night to calm your nerves, relax, and take some time for yourself. So without further ado...

Today's Tasty Bite!

Last Friday a tart little morsel was introduced into the digital world. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of "Not So Silent Night" by Kelly Ryan a few weeks ago, and I have been dying to tell you what a HOT read this is.

A short novella that took very little time to read, was so worth it! As evident by the cover, there are some real animals in this book and a few surprises as well.

While Anna spends her days in a town that inhabits werewolves, it is the visiting Russian that grabs her attention immediately. And I promise he will grab yours as well!

From the moment Alexander enters Anna's flower shop, you can feel the heat. He is something different, something she has never seen before, and something that she knows she wants.

Alexander is immediately drawn to Anna, though he doesn't understand why. Well, there's a few tricks up Anna's sleeves as well.  But I won't spoil the surprise!

The verdict?

This short novel packs a hefty punch. With no holds barred sexual encounters right off the bat, and danger looming in the distance. This book will keep the heat up and going. The heroine is flawed and realistic in this paranormal world, giving her a unique perspective to events that are happening around her. The hero is almost too perfect. There really doesn't seem to be a single flaw in him at all. And though we all hope that there is that perfect man out there, it makes it hard to believe. The sex flows easily and fast. Though, I have to admit, I was a little shocked at just how quickly this couple got together. It was a little unbelievable at first. But, the author DOES make you understand why it happens and it really makes for a good back story.

Definitely one I want to recommend to those that want some heat in a short time frame and I can't wait to see if Ms. Ryan comes out with another Russian Bear Shifter novella. I'd read it!

It's a "Four Cups of Love" read!

Tune in Next week for the next "What's New to Review~ Wednesday"! New Year's Eve is sure to be easier than Christmas :-) Until then, happy reading!

Review of "Ribbon of Darkness" (The Trouble With Elves) by Decadent Kane

What's New to Review~ Wednesday!

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to week 2 of "What's New to Review" here at Pen-the-Dream. Last week's day was such a success, and I am so thankful for all you that popped by. I hope that you enjoyed last weeks review of "The Cowboy's Christmas Auction." I certainly enjoyed reading it and I hope you got the chance to pick up a copy for yourself!

Today's Treat!

This past week, I was lucky enough to be asked to review an amazing new title and the first in a series. "Ribbon of Darkness" (The Trouble with Elves) is a short novella that had me in stitches at some of the Christmas lingo that the author has used in creative new ways. First lets get a few things straight. These Christmas elves are like none you have ever seen. They can blend in with human folk, and are comparable to our height and likeness. I mean, they don't even grow into their ears until they are in their twenties... and that is exactly where our story begins!

Ribbon knows nothing of her heritage and that she is a Christmas elf, she only knows that her parents are a little obsessed about Christmas and have some very strange rituals. When her ears blossom over night, her mother lets her in on the secret and throws Ribbon's  life into chaos.

To add insult to injury, her parents are rogue Christmas elves who left without permission, and a Secret Santa Spy, Draven, is after them to bring them home. After meeting this hunk of an elf, Ribbon can't seem to think of a reason why she shouldn't go. Being wrapped up in his arms is all she seems to be thinking about.

The verdict?

The chase and excitement of this novella keeps you turning the page! Perfect for an hour lunch break if you are a quick reader, and well worth the price. The best part? This is the 1st in the series~! Decadent Kane will be releasing book 2 in February! I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve! I really enjoyed the author's writing style, the heat, and the creativity that Ms. Kane has used. I will definitely read it again and I highly recommend it for anyone!

It's a "Five Cups of Love" Read!

Want your own copy? Here you go!~ only$1.99

See you guys next Wednesday. Yes, it will be Christmas. But, I will still be here helping you decide what new hot romance you want added to your new E-reader! Happy Holidays everyone!

Review of "The Cowboy's Christmas Auction" by Lorraine Nelson

What's New to Review? - Wednesday

It's been a great Holiday season already. I have gotten the chance to read some amazing holiday stories this year, and I am so thankful for the opportunity that my fellow authors have given me to enjoy their wonderful reads for free and for honest reviews.

This marks the beginning of what I hope will become a weekly feature on my blog. Wednesday will be "What's New to Review?" day here at Pen-the-Dream and to kick it off, I want to introduce you to a great short read from a wonderful author.

"The Cowboy's Christmas Auction"

This sweet romance holiday read is a short story that lights a fire in your heart from the beginning and it burns slow and steady through the read.

Ms. Nelson is quite skilled in her sweet romances and this holiday's short is no difference. Deciding to focus more on true love and romance really puts your heart to soaring and I highly recommend it!

Having already written a number of other books that are set on ranches, Lorraine has perfected the setting. And right next door to this ranch? A beautiful acreage of Christmas Trees and new neighbor...

Though this story does take place during the holiday season, the holiday itself doesn't take over the book, and would be a great read for any time of the year. Other than the Christmas Tree selling and a mention of Christmas dinners, there is hardly a mention. This suites me just fine, knowing that these events could happen at any time of year just makes it that more heart warming.

My official review?  It's a "5 cups of love" read. This is a novella that I'm sure I will read again!

Blurb:

Can an organic grower and a cattle rancher find common ground?

When the acreage next door comes up for bid, Dustin Granger attends the auction hoping to obtain the property for his growing herd. Along with the creek running through the property, his cattle need more grazing land. What he doesn’t need or want is a city girl outbidding him to establish an organic farm.

Meredith McRae inherits a small fortune from a distant uncle and decides to invest in her future. The estate she’s come to bid on has everything she needs and no neighboring cowboy was going to thwart her…regardless how handsome.
